79 porsche 924 na 2.0l

Post by 79porsche924 »

I was wondering if i have to install the ford crank sensor and wheel or can i use the cam sensor that is already in the car? i know that the cam sensor will read 2 to 1, will it fire on the exhaust the second time?

I have not yet ordered my mega jolt yet? I was wondering if you can use a usb port to serial port or does it have to be a serial port. My laptop hase no serial port hookups.

The parts i have so far are
1-edis 4 module
1-edis 4 coil pack
1-edis crank position sensor
1-edis crank position reluctor (wheel)
and all harness conectors is there anything else i need besides the megajolt unit it self?

any info will be greatly appreciated.
thanx Paul

It's simply a matter of meeting the requirements of the Ford EDIS system. EDIS requires a 36-1 sensor wheel, with the sensor mounted in a specific location in relation to crank TDC. See the "technical info" link for more information.

You can use a USB->Serial adapter. Most should work, as long as they can map to a conventional COM port.
