What will happen if RCP is logging data internally, we pull into the pits and hit the kill switch before turning off or stopping the logging? Most data loggers will have a corrupted file that is almost useless.
How does RCP handle that?

RCP writes to the log file pretty frequently (every minute I think), I use it in my Lemons car and never saw a corrupt file. We did frequent pit stops and testing (turning car+RPC on for only a few seconds) and would always have data. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

So its not a constant write stream? It basically stores unwritten data in memory, then appends to current file every x seconds? That would certainly prevent a corrupted file unless you somehow timed the shutoff exactly while it was writing the data. I imagine that window is so small, that you have a better chance of winning powerball and mega millions at same time.
So typically at most you'd lose up to x seconds of data? I can live with that. Way better than 17 hours of data lost <cough>TraqMate Nelson Ledges 25.5 hour race</cough>.

Hi Scott,
RaceCapture/Pro streams data continuously to the SD card, and every 10 seconds synchronizes the file markers on the file so that if power is suddenly lost during logging, the data since the last file marker synchronization is retained.
Definitely test this yourself with the unit; you can easily simulate this on the bench when powered over USB!

Cool. That's great. It was so frustrating to lose 17 hours of data when we won the 25.5 hour race at Nelson, especially since we had a stellar lineup of drivers(1 pro and 4 BMW/NASA national champs), comparing data really would have been so useful.
Sounds like we don't have to worry about that with RCP.
