Sharp GP2D12 IR Sensor?

Post by cagedruss »

Has anyone used these yet? Are they durable and will they in-climate weather like heavy rain or are these specifically for indoor use?

If using more than 1 is there a specific way to wire them up?

Thanks!

We are planning to test them on our race car. No idea on durability; for severe use they will likely need to be encased in something waterproof, for sure.

Word is from our experts is that the sensor is surprisingly resilient to dirt on the optics, but even I'm still a bit skeptical. :)
