V3 transistor - 2n2222 or 2n3906??

Post by MartinM »

I'm confused!

In
http://picasso.org/mjlj/source/release_ ... t/mjlj.bom
it says T2 is a 2N2222

The order page at
http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/508
calls it T2 and a NPN 2N2222

In
http://picasso.org/mjlj/source/release_ ... lj_sch.png
it shows the transistor as Q1, a PNP transistor symbol (which the 2N2222 isn't) of type 2N3906

The text in
http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/497
calls it T2 and says 2N2222, in the image the silkscreen says T2 and the outline shape is for a 2N2222 case, but it doesn't look like a 2N2222 in place (it looks like the standard package for a 2N3906)

I'm assuming, against the weight of evidence, that it's a 2N3906????

It's a 2N2222. I'm fixing that right now! :) Thanks for the reminder.

edit:

It's now fixed. Thanks again.

Phew!

I've got some MJLJ's in the field with 2N2222, just about to have their rev counters fitted and I made this potentially horrible discovery last night! Thanks Brent.
