megajolt with Wideband O2

Post by toomanyveedubs »

Hi All,

I am going to install my megajolt next week when i get the trigger wheel mounted and back from the machinist.

My question is about the wiring. Should i use the input port on the MJ to run a temperature sensor or connect it to the wideband O2 sensor i have ordered from Definitive Motorsports ?

And if i use one or the other, where do i program the changes in the software based on this input.

Thanks

Hi,

Apologies for the late reply. you can connect the sensor you prefer to the Aux input of the Megajolt and then calibrate it using the software.

See here for more help:

Thanks for the reply. In your opinion, which sensor allows for better all around tuning.
And by tuning I mean general drivability and reliability from cold starts to good fuel economy.

Thanks.

Measuring AFR is probably the most critical part; if combined with a good dyno session you can get a nice profile of engine performance.

Temperature input is primarily useful for adjusting ignition advance for cold weather starts.

I've got the aem air fuel gauge. it's got 4 wires on the small connector.

1) red +
2) black -
3) blue : serial output
4) white : 0-5v

Which one would go to megajolt please to display air fuel line on the 'runtime' graph?

the white 0-5v output would feed into the aux input of the megajolt unit. Note, the input would need to be scaled, see this guide. The scaling options are limited to whole numbers.
