Firing order 1-2-3-4 & 1-3-4-2

Post by damunk »

Please see pic.

This is how my system is wired up 1-2-3-4

In Elsawin my cars firing order is 1-3-4-2

Does megajolt coilpack fire 1+4 together and 3+2 together?

To be precise, It fires pairs of cylinders together, so it's up to you to connect them to the cylinder matching the firing order.

Fortunately, with a 4 cylinder car it only takes a bit of trial and error to figure out the right combination if you have something switched around.

Swap cylinder 2 to coilpack contact 3 and cylinder 3 to coilpack contact 2 and you are ready.

I've been driving up to 100mph for 4 days now with current setup.
The car was setup by professional tuners.

Am I doing damage to engine?

Does your engine run smooth or does it buck and backfire violently? If you're getting up to 100MPH then I'm guessing the former is the answer...

It's just not quite giving the performance I was hoping for.

However, It's smooth through the revs and gears. No backfire, 0 jerks.

How can this be so good in this aspect if it was wired incorrect.

If it's smooth, then next step is to put it on a dyno and tune torque throughout the power band, by optimizing ignition advance under various engine conditions. The Megajolt has a fully customizable ignition map, so this part is critical for best performance.
