What, based on my last comment it should've been done by now? :)

Seriously, it's kind of one thing at a time for me right now. I need my MR2 back running so I can use it for real life testing.. Not to mention I haven't had it running for a year!

So I actually fired it up for the first time yesterday, yea! but found a few small oil leaks.

So I should have that firmware update before the end of the summer, I'd estimate..

I'll slap a real bomb with my tuner before the end of summer. :) I was working on editor portion of runtime display all last week, turned out to be a killa!!!! I'm doing a complete overhaul of GUI and config, and thus far it's turning out to be very good looking. The new interface also illuminates many bugs. You better have that mazda working by the end of summer, I'll send it to you for beta testing!!!!!!!!

map switching on the fly?

Post by Kenn »

How will the map switching be implemented?

will it be like a switch on the dash or will it be done via an adjustable acceleration threshold i.e one map for, say below 1000RPM/MMIN and one map for above 1000RPM/MIN with auto switching?

I think what Brent is doing

I think what Brent is doing is toggle switch switching. You want the acceleration dependent (or rapid acceleration) capability. There is more than one way of doing it, such was what you described, or the a multiplier table or single variable. By how it looks now that will come later on.

Currently it's through an external switch, triggered by the "Option" input on the molex connector.

The idea was to support different engine configuration modes- such as race fuel vs 'normal' gasoline.

I'd be very interested to see this up and running.

Reason being is that when using nitrous i need to retard the timing..

I take it i could effectivley have a seperate map with the timing retard built into it....?????
