gpsDist() - Distance - is not showing any number

Post by FHB-PERFORMANCE »

Hi guys,

Trying to create a timer to show 1/4mile on screen (in the app). I already made something similar for 0-100km/h, 60-120km/h and etc.

However, I could not make one that shows the time refering to distance (gpsDist()).

In the user guide it says:

"getGpsDist()
Provides the current GPS calculated distance from the beginning of the logging session, or from the start finish line, if configured.
params
(none)
returns
The distance, in Miles

"

I am not recording it in any track, only on streets. So, no start or finish lines. But I am pressing the button to log it. Even that, it still showing 0.000 miles.

So, how should I do to get a distance channel to use in my calculations?

BTW, attached is the screen where I show 0-100km/ and other metrics

Maybe last ifrmware update created this?

It is interesting that looking to an old file I can see the "Distance" channel showing several numbers while my latest files it just shows 0.

Would be the case of a bug in this latests firmware update?

Thanks,
Felipe

Hi,

The solution might be to ensure you have a track configured, or at least, specifying a start/finish line point.

Try that and let us know if that resolves the issue.

Hi Brent,

I don´t have a track or start/finish line defined. As I mentioned, I am using on normal roads and even if I use it in close track, I won´t define the track.

The interesting thing is that old data, from March Arpil, had this channel working (in a not defined track or start/finish line)and now it is not working anymore.

Would you know why I am having this issue now?

Thank you again,

Regards,
Felipe

Not sure. Can you try setting some arbitrary start/finish point to see if that makes a difference?

Hi, one more thing. could you re-check this with the latest 2.10.0 firmware?

Hi Brent,

Sorry for my late response. Not receiving the notification when a new response is added in my questions.

Yes, using the new firmware 2.10.0.

Thank you again!
