MJLJ PC Board pic

Post by Barry_D »

Brent,

Where is the pic you had on the site of the MJLJ PC Board that shows its circuitry? I assembled my board yesterday and need to verify some of my soldering before I power it up a second time.

HELP!

PCB assembly instructions

Post by Barry_D »

Hi Brent,

What I really need is the pic you had on the site that showed a closeup of the back of the board, or was it the front you had? So I can check a soldering point to see if my solder is bridging to areas it's not supposed to... :(

If you don't have it on the site anymore, I'd appreciate it if you could email me the pic.

Thanks,

MJLJR PCB pic

Brent,

Thanks for the link, but I've already seen that pic. I thought you had a closeup shot of the PCB front or back on here... If not, could someone please upload a closeup pic of the back of the PCB that's in focus so I can see the printed circuits?

I can't tell if I've soldered onto an area on the PCB that might short something out by bridging two circuits. I don't want to power it up again until I check a board pic. Seems like it would be a good idea to have a shot of the back of the board on here for future use anyway.

Thanks in advance,

Barry

Ok, I'll take a picture of the rear of my test board tonight for you. Any particular area of the board you're concerned with?

Thanks Brent,

Actually there 3 different spots. An in focus closeup of the whole board back would be great!

ignore the area in the upper left corner- I built up a board that failed quality assurance, there were some missing traces.

Brent,

A few questions:
Is this pic of a normally functioning board?
I noticed its version is 2.0.1., and I have a 2.0.
Any significant changes?
And is it of any importance to clean the small amount of rosin residue the solder leaves around solder points on the board?

Yep- it's a regular functioning board.

2.0.1 is functionally equivalent to 2.0.0. Only very minor changes were done- I moved the holes for mounting the pressure sensor and moved some traces around to accomodate that.

The rosin doesn't hurt, but you can clean it off by scrubbing the board using a toothbrush with some denatured alcohol.
