Have my megajolt all hooked up and cant get it to communicate with the laptop.
The edis runs fine. But obviously stuck at 10degrees.
Ive tried a usb to serial converter with proper drivers installed and connecting to the computers serial port with a extention harness as the megajolt cable isnt deep enough.
According to the schematic for the adapter i should have had continuity from pin 5 to 3 and 4
I only had 3 so i went and modified the phone line to bridge 3 and 4
But a timeout message still comes up.
And i am trying to find the proper com but cant with the serial port as nothing says its connected. While the usb adapter itself does show up.
Hi. Im in need of help. And getting relativly frustrated

Hi, Thanks for posting. let's figure this out.
First, did you build your own cable or did you purchase the add-on cable we offer with the kit?
You can also try these Troubleshooting steps to see if you get any low-level communications to the unit. (Make sure the Megajolt software isn't running when you do these tests)

Will watch for replies.

Hi,
If you've never used it, this can help you get started.
http://www.techrepublic.com/article/ste ... -problems/
Basically our instructions in the wiki show how to use it as a back door to check communications with the megajolt system.
I saw your note; the cable we provide only requires 3 wires, it's not necessary to bridge the connections.
A fundamental check: When you power up the unit, do you see a green light? Assuming the system is completely connected (with PIP and SAW lines) do you see ignition advance vary as you vary RPM (using a timing light?)
