GEMS analysis how to separate laps

I must have missed something, I went into gems and setup a gps lap beacon at the finish line, but it's not computing any laps from my 31 minutes of data

am I missing some step? Does anyone out there have a segment/kml for virginia international raceway full course ?

Despite being the one who wrote the conversion script I'm pretty out of it when it comes using DA. I saw your post and opened up an old log I had on my laptop from a few years ago and after setting up the track map and beacon I got lap times calculated in the lower left. Is this what you're talking about? If so, maybe post a screenshot of your interface, maybe it will clue me in as to what's different between our setups?

btw pardon the resolution on the image, this forum has an archaic 256KB attachment limit (msg'd Brent about it, hopefully that will get adjusted soon).

That's what I'm trying to do

I clicked on the track up on the top right, hit add beacon here "lap" but it does not seem to do anything, I click generate markers it says "no laps were calculated from the beacon"
