RCP IOS AirPods Integration

Post by jlwall »

I just got rcp 1.8.0 connected, and thought that it could be interesting to allow some sound to be generated from RCP based off data conditions, and allow that to tunnel into my AirPods.

Most fault tones, and shift tones in F1 are done by Audio, the McLaren Tag320 generates these based of a rule set.

Sometimes while on track it is a little hard to look at lights, and gauges while searching for cars around you ready to dive bomb in.

Has anyone looked at the Kivy Audio Modules, and if they can easily be used in the IOS port?

The features ask here could be endless, like split times, lap deltas, brake point beeps. It would probably either need to be a status enum controlled and sent from the RCP HW, or configurable in this application.

Great idea. Tracking here:

Sounds like an app-specific feature and would slot right in to the existing alerts feature.

The RC hardware doesn't have specific knowledge of the app that's connected, to maintain proper 'separation of concerns' and not have the system overly tightly coupled.
