Got it figured out. Can't do it from my tablet and or maybe have to use the cable.

Correct, you need to do it via USB. We have a how-to video here:

Brent, while try to figure out how to flash the RCP I tried using the the bootloader method (holding button down and turning on) and now it seems to be staying in that mode. I was able to flash the rcp but the red error light is still blinking rapidly. Could this be that there is some kind of error reading can data? Thank you in advance for the help

First thing is to double check the file that you downloaded and ensure it is the RaceCapture/Pro MK2 firmware, and not firmware for a different device.

Let us know what you find out!

Yes it was updated with the latest MK2 firmware. I did notice that the red light only comes on when the car is on so i am wondering if it is having trouble communicating with the CAN system. I have the revision K board and did the CAN termination on it. Maybe that is the problem?

Oh, I assumed that your firmware update didn't take, and it was stuck in bootloader mode.

Does the unit power up and communications work, just with the red LED?

The red LED typically indicates 1) SD write error or 2) Error in the Lua script. First thing is to check the RCP log for any error messages.

CAN termination issues will not cause the red LED to illuminate.

Sorry for the ignorance but how do I check the log for errors?
