JAVA problem? Power?

Post by Barry_D »

H E L P!!!!

My controller is all assembled correctly now. It passed its power on tests. It's plugged into Com1 port. I installed all of the JAVA comm software correctly. I was getting "can't open com port 1 error" until I moved the files to the right locations. That error msg is gone. Now the MJLJ Configurator software errors with - "Could not connect to controller."

This might sound dumb, but do I need to supply power to the controller before running the configurator software? I ask this because I thought I shouldn't connect power since it's not listed anywhere in the config steps.

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated when someone gets a minute...

Yes,

The board needs to be powered, as well as connected to the serial port. A 9 volt battery is fine, or any small 12 volt power supply.

Hey Paratime,

That's not the problem... :-( I've supplied 12v to it, same error. This is one for the group. Anyone with any ideas please feel free to jump right in!
