Manual option for camera control

Post by TimIrwin »

When autocrossing, the time between a given event (speed, RPM, or whatever) and the starting line can be very short. In ProSolo (or drag racing for that matter), where it's a drag tree type start, it is likely that you'll want the camera running before most automatic events would fire.

Would it be possible to have the camera trigger on log start / stop when going to or leaving the dashboard?

Also, some sort of indication in RaceCapture that the device has successfully connected to the camera would be nice.

Thanks for the suggestion. Synchronizing camera with logging inside the app is something we're going to enable, so it behaves similarly to synchronized logging to SD card.

Bumping this.

It seems that the GoPro needs to be on and running and connected to phone wifi before RCP is powered up, for it to work, and even then sometimes it doesn't connect.

There is no way to test if the GoPro is connected until logging starts, and by then it may be too late. Would be handy to have a 'start/stop recording' button in the settings to test the connection to the GoPro before the logging event.

Hi,

At the moment, you can tell if RC is connected to the GoPro by going to the Status page and checking the WiFi client status to see if the Client is connected. If you see it connected, then you'll know you're connected to the GoPro.

Thanks,
