Celular connection

Post by MSRJames »

I've gotten the sim cards activated and accomplished one "ad hoc" update to Podium/live. After getting my second unit connected I went back to the first car and the cellular connection didn't reconnect immediately. After going back in and checking that FreedomPop was the carrier it showed active connection. However I didn't get another ad hoc session and Live shows not connected?

I had to do the custom apn and then go back and pick freedompop free to get the device to ever connect to the service.

Is this normal? The car never moved during the complete setup. I have the windshield antenna but no windshield. The car is open with lots of fiberglass to set the antenna on. Is that an issue?

Hi,

Once you have your freedom Pop SIM cards activated, you only need to select the Freedom Pop cellular carrier in the dropdown list, ensure cellular is turned 'on'. Then 'write' and power cycle the system.

When it connects, you'll see an ad-hoc event listed on your home page:
https://podium.live/home

If you're running two PodiumConnect devices at the same time, double check the ad-hoc event, you may have both devices listed under that event.

If you create a new event with a name and date/time range, then when you first connect, it will bind to that event -- otherwise it will create an "ad-hoc" event if it cannot find a pre-existing event.

Hope this helps,

data on podium/live

I got the ad hoc event on Sunday, but just for one car. Unfortunately I'm driving at the same time as my grandson. Is there any residual information available after we come in?

Hi,

Providing your system is configured to detect laps, you will have data organized in the form of laps. See the guide here:
https://wiki.autosportlabs.com/Podium_D ... a_Analysis

In order to ensure this case, you'll want to add the track to the list of tracks on the device. I'm assuming you're using a PodiumConnect device, here's the spot in the instructions:
