VVT controller

How about a stand alone VVT controller, many modern engines have VVT and whilst the fuel and ignition can be taken care of there seems to be nothing to control VVT. I beleive it could be a possible development of the megajolt ign controller and would be real useful when retro fitting a more modern engine in an older car where the OEM engine management cannot be used.
So how about it?

Sounds like an RPM controlled relay, or does it need other inputs?
