Sensors?
Sensors?
Hi, My friend uses your RaceCapture Pro Mk 2 on his car and suggested that I consider your RaceCapture/Track. I'd like to be able to monitor my Oil Pressure and perhaps my Oil Temperature. Does the RaceCapture/Track have the capability to add these sensors at all? This system would be used in a 2008 Honda S2000. Thanks

Re: Sensors?
I believe your 2008 uses canbus so you can pull a bunch of stuff from that. Anything else you need you can add an analongX to and put any 4 analog sensors onto the canbus as well.Speed2k wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 8:15 pm Hi, My friend uses your RaceCapture Pro Mk 2 on his car and suggested that I consider your RaceCapture/Track. Re: Sensors?
Thanks Canyonfive, yes, it is canbus, but from my research the OEM oil pressure sensor is a very basic on/off type system and doesn't actually supply any meaningful data. So, the RaceCapture/Track does not have the ability to even add one sensor; AnalogX though https://www.autosportlabs.com/product/a ... interface/ can connect to RaceCapture/Track (does it connect wirelessly?). Then add one oil pressure sensor [https://www.autosportlabs.com/product/1 ... re-sensor/][/url] and one linear temp sensor https://www.autosportlabs.com/product/l ... re-sensor/ and I should be good to go? If I buy a gauge and it comes with sensors, I can use those ones as long as they have linear mapping right? (I would consider the MTX-D https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/inn-3913 because my friend has a new one that he wants to sell, but the caveat is it's likely the thermistor isn't linear)Canyonfive wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 9:23 pmI believe your 2008 uses canbus so you can pull a bunch of stuff from that. In the sensor setup you can account for some nonliterary if needed there are 5 positions.Speed2k wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:20 amThanks Canyonfive, yes, it is canbus, but from my research the OEM oil pressure sensor is a very basic on/off type system and doesn't actually supply any meaningful data. The AnalogX would go in line and you would scratch off the termination bridge. So ECU(terminated) > Analogx > Racecapture(Terminated). You should also add a steering sensor for the huge amount of wonderful data it provides. (You can look up how can bus works later and the termination thing will make more sense. )
Re: Sensors?
Okay, I suppose I'll have room to add up to two more sensors as well, so I'll look into the steering sensor; I don't see a "steering sensor" on the sensors page https://wiki.autosportlabs.com/RaceCapturePro_Sensors, is this something we need to source externally?
Also, does anyone know if there's going to be a newer AnalogX coming out soon? It's out of stock now.

Re: Sensors?
Hi, we are very soon launching the new AnalogX, which will feature a ruggedized enclosure for a more plug and play experience.
The new AnalogX will have a companion CAN hub, to allow it to integrate with RaceCapture, providing a complete solution.
Both of these will be launched together very soon. Watch our blog and the forum for updates.
Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks for the update, I'm looking forward to this.brentp wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 7:24 pm Hi, we are very soon launching the new AnalogX, which will feature a ruggedized enclosure for a more plug and play experience.
