I am about to tackle this on

Post by redkcspit »

I am about to tackle this on a 77 1500 spitfire as soon as the parts arrive. Obviously I don't have a working map yet, but I recal that it has been done on several spits, someone should be able to help out. Have you mounted your trigger wheel/ pickup yet. I can send photos of how I dd it if you would like.

Trigger whee;

Post by bobyspit »

Triumph Spitfire 1971
I would like photos if available, I am looking at this to see what options there are. I know you can run the system off a TPS or without. I have twin Weber Dcoe 40's and with a fully prepared engine (gas flowed-lightened and balanced - fast road cam) ect. My Crank pulley wheel is alloy so I would have to attach the trigger wheel by other means than welding. Any help would be greatly accepted.
Redskip I am also struggling to find how to order all the bits and board and I have not decided if I should go for the MegaJolt Lite Jr. Version 2.x. or 3 x what do you think.

Bobbyspit, I ended up

Post by redkcspit »

Bobbyspit,
I ended up mounting my wheel on my stock pulley with 8 #8 hex head bolts tapped into the pulley. I used a 1/4" spacer to get the trigger wheel away from the pulley. To get the trigger wheel centered on the pulley I installed only two of the bolts and oversized the holes on the trigger wheel so I could adjust the wheel. Once I got the wheel in the rght spot, drilled the other 6 bolts and loc-tited them in. For the sensor I used the lower bolts on the timing chain cover on the drivers side to mount a 1/4 aluminum plate that I fabricated for the sensor. I've got photos, just not sure how to get them to you.

As far as the v2 or v3, I got V3 since it appeared to have a few nore options. I will be using the MAP sensor (i've got a single downdraft weber).

EDIS FORD WIRING

Post by bobyspit »

Guys,
Advice please, I am up to wiring the units together, I am currently disassembling the EDIS (FORD) plug and I have noticed there is a lot more wires to begin with.
Am I right in thinking some of these wires on this loom are obsolete? or longer used/left blank?
I await any reply.
Rob
