Storing new configuration

Post by T3tone »

Is there a specific procedure in storing a new ignition configuration? I did finally manage to store in a new map but not sure how?? Does the megajolt need switching off in between changing settings? Im using the V3.0.0 software with a V3 board purchased direct from Brent in september 2005 so take it i have the soft limiter that pulls the timing to 0 degrees just before the preset rev limit. I was trying earlier to set a lowish rev limit to test it but after writng the new settings (with low rev limit)the controller always semmed to show a different (higher) rev limit?

Hope ive made sence into what im explaining here,

Many thanks.

With the V3 configurator you

With the V3 configurator you have to

- Write Ignition Configuration (the down arrow icon) - to send the configuration to the MJLJ and take immediate effect

- Commit Configuration to Flash (the 'chip' icon) - to make the MJLJ store the configuration so that it will still be there after a power down/up cycle.

If you just do the first and then power off then you will have the original configuration

Still problems!

Im hoping the new firmware/software will correct this, but it took several attemps to change the configuration then write to flash. Somtimes after a power down-up cycle only my values in vacuum cells would change, the rest went to 0 and a window pops up telling it cant reads values of 78 or 208!! But under boost i obviously have retard timing (26 degrees). As i said after several attemps it did finally store my new configuration, has anyone else come across this problem?
