Com port woes...Please help.....

Post by Jenko »

Hi,

I've done a search, but it hasn't helped.....

So any help appreciated.....

Problem is....I've set port settings to com port 1, Click on tune.bat file......Software opens, but in red writing at the bottom of the map are the words:

'Unable to open Com port 1: Unknown serial port'

I have a USB serial port converter, which seems to work ok......Any ideas, before all my hair falls out...............Many thanks.

Paul.

Looks like your trying to use the (old) Java-based Configurator...and you haven't followed the installation instructions EXACTLY. Anything other than exactness in copying the various files to the various directories will result in, amongst other things, what you're seeing.

Download the new V3.0.0 Tuner for your version of the MJLJ from http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/4 and install that - it's much more functional and a whole load easier (like trivial) to install.

Right! I'm sorry I inflicted that Java tuner on you guys (there! I said it! :) )

Jenko, please download the latest tuning software- Martin's referenced link, or just go to the "Software" link at the top. Providing you have your COM ports sorted, you should be up and working in short order.
