will circuit overheat?

Post by T3tone »

I have just made up the diode circuit (2x 1n4004 and 15v zener) to run my rev counter and wondered if the components will be ok in heat shrink? I have no idea if any of the above components get hot and i need to make up the circuit another way? Just for confirmation im running a small TIM rev counter that used to connect to the negative coil terminal so assume i need the diode circuit?

Many thanks.

I'm glad someone else asked,

I'm glad someone else asked, because I'm planning on potting mine in a little box. I don't think they'd get particularly warm, but it's best to know first isn't it?

I'm running this exact

I'm running this exact circuit, without heat issues. In fact, I have it heat-shrinked in line with the wires going to the coil pack.

Excellent

Thanks Brent glad to hear that,i too have them heat shrinked in line with the coil wires, it runs my rev counter very nicely.
