Wet wheels

Post by rmaddock »

Hello chaps everywhere,

I am thinking of putting MJLJ into my Series Landrover and a possible problem has just occured to me.

It is this: although I do not often go off the hard black stuff, LandRovers are capable of wading through rather deep water. What would the effect of partial or even total immersion be in the sensor wheel and sensor? The electronics can be installed a lot further up and wouldn't be a problem.

Anybody any ideas please?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Robert (UK).

It should work...

.. in theory. It's bound to be more reliable than a distributor setup.

water resistant

Should be fine. The sensor is hermetically sealed. I would just put some electrical anti-corrosion grease on the plug pins. this should displace any water that gets in there.
