Painted wheels

Post by rmaddock »

Hello,

Another question.

My timing gear is being attached today, on the front of my crank pulley. To the best of my knowledge it is just plain old steel and I don't like it's chances stuck out on the front of the engine.

Can I paint it? Should I paint it? With something like Hammerite? I'm guessing that the VR sensor is magnetic and so should still work.

Cheers! Robert.

Yes, paint it

I did mine with aluminium radiator paint, but hammerite should be fine.

Paint is fine

Yep, paint is fine. I painted mine black.

Cadmium plating would be interesting as well..
