Strange one

Im all wired up, sensor mounted at 90 before missing tooth at tdc, engine starts and runs fine BUT in limp mode in runs at c 20 degrees, in fact to get in to run at 10 degrees I have to move the sensor so its more like 70 degrees between it and the missing tooth ( 7 teeth apart). This is repeated when the MJ is comnected albeit subject to the advance set. Have I got a strange edis? or is it something else?

Any thoughts?
