Position of tooth space.

I have an EDIS system and Megajolt JR. I am useing a Toyota 1.6 twin cam. Where do I posiiton the open tooth on the wheel. I am hearing 90 degrees before TDC . John

John,

The gap must pass the sensor 90 degrees before the engine reaches top dead centre.

So, on a clockwise rotating engine, with the engine at TDC and the sensor also at the top( for the sake of argument, it could be anywhere), the gap would be 90 degrees (or 9 teeth) to the right of the sensor (i.e. it's already gone past).

I think that's as clear as mud.

Thanks. I thought this might be the case. I will set it up so the engine will indicate 90BTDC when the gap passes. I intend to mount the sensor on the side of the block out of way of the fan belt and alternator. John H.
