EDIS6 module selection

Post by aarc240 »

A bit of useful trivia for those with 6 cylinder engines.
Get the GREEN label EDIS6 module if you intend winding the engine hard.
For some reason each of those that I have are able to track the VRS accurately to over 8000 whereas the earlier ORANGE label units seem to all get ragged above 7000 (or thereabouts).

Interesting info on the green & orange modules. The other EDIS6 modules I've seen are the yellow and grey ones. Just wondering if you had the chance to sample/test those as well? :D

No opportunity to test those.
What are the Ford part numbers on them?

The grey one I have is F4ZF-12K072-AB and the yellow is 91BB-12K072-AA.

When I get an opportunity (and modules) they will get a test run.
Ford part no's indicate that the yellow one is one of the earliest and the grey is between the orange and the green.

Just for reference:
Yellow 91BB-12K072-AA
Orange 91BB-12K072-BA
Grey F4ZF-12K072-AB
Green F4ZF-12K072-BB

Seems there are others also but I didn't take the time to search.
