Tacho on EDIS4

Post by AdrianG »

New to all this so just trying to get as much info as pos before attacking my car. I got the bits I need from the local scrap yard and have been looking at all the pin out diagrams I can find. As far as I can see Pin 2 is some kind of Tacho output and Pin 11 is labelled as a CTO clean Tacho out.

Is this correct? if so what kind out put can I expect from these and why would I need the diode circuit between pins 12 and 10?

The tacho out drives the tach

The tacho out drives the tacho in my car no probs, you get an nice clean square wave signal.

The only reason you might want to use the diode circuit is if you have a rev limiter for example. I tried to get the diode circuit to drive my tacho and rev limiter, but it didn't work for me, although other paople have managed it???
