3 clock set up tach?

Post by Mini_Alex »

got everything going now but my tach wont work. I have a 3 clock set up and even if i take a spade straight from the tach to the megajolt tach out pin it doesnt work. doe this mean that the tach isnt compatible and i need to use the feed off of the coil pack?

thx

If your tach doesn't like the tach_output of the MJLJ, try the alternate approach by tapping to the (-) side of the coil packs. This arrangement emulates what the tach would have seen from the original distributor.

Alex,

Can I ask what you have done about your trigger wheel, I was going to get one machine by www.mini-pulleys.com but can't get any response from them.

because im rele lazy and had just got paid at the time, i ended up getting the kad crank sensor kit, but its incredible pricey. probly not worth it. the other way to do it is to buy the trigger wheel and fit it to a 1275 crank damper and make a bracket yourself. If you go to minifinity.com in the technical section under ignition there are some xamples of brackets. and trigger-wheels.com sell trigger wheels and edis stuff.

Just looked at the KAD one found it in another post, you're right £160 plus postage is expense, I turned my nose up at £129 including postage from Specialist Components. Mini pulleys is on £38 with bracket another £38. Seen the Trigger Wheels one as well but they have to be welded to an existing pully, not sure about getting it true.

i think that mini pulleys is offline for a while, i also couldnt get hold of them at the time. i was told that the person who runs it, tom, is having a few problems with stuff at the moment so is not running mini pulleys at the moment, which is why i went to kad.

Mini Pullies is indeed off line for the foreseeable future. The guy who was doing it had his circumstances change and so is not in a position to keep doing them.
