Car will turn over but not start???

Post by Mini_Alex »

Ok i have everything connected up, the car turns over fine but will not start. I have tried without the megajolt connected aswell. If i keep cranking over i get a pop from the exhaust like either the timing is out or the plugs are wrong. the missing tooth is placed like in the diagram on this site and i have connected my leads from the sticker on the coil pack to the plugs, 1 on the right for on the left any suggestions??? :(

A common cause for this problem is a reversed polarity VR sensor. If you pull a plug, do you see any spark? This will tell you if the EDIS module is at least firing the plugs.

Try reversing the sensor connection and see if that makes a difference.

i had this problem with mine, lots of turning over, little pops from the exhaust occasionally. it was the vr wired backwards.

As mentioned, first check you see sparks....Ground a plug on your engine block and turn the engine over....If you see a spark then you are half way there....Then double check you have fuel.....

For me, it turned out to be the toothed wheel not set up in the correct position...After reading the instructions, I still managed to get it wrong...so, tripple check this......there is a very neat description of this somewhere on this site, but go over it a few a few times to make sure.......
