Custom plug wires?

Post by dparsley »

Has anyone seen, or know of where to obtain custom plug wires that fit the EDIS coils with the retainer? I've looked around quiet a bit, but haven't found any from the larger manufacturers.

Your best bet is to get a plug wire set for the original car (93 ford escort, for example) and take apart the wires and adapt them to your original wires.

Plug lead sets

Post by Oliver Sedlacek »

I found a set by Bosch marked as B860 which has the early Mondeo coil pack connections and regular plug connections. It might be suitable for your installation, or, as Brent suggested, be suitable for modification. The leads are a couple of feet long, which is better than most of the OEM sets which are pretty short.

Magnecor do custom leads. They also do leads for Fords, so I assume you can get custom ones with the correct ends on. See

Custom Plug Wires?

Post by Daryl »

Went to a company called Aurora Ignition on Friday. They were very nice and made up the wire set while I waited so I didn't have to make another trip. Black or Red. I got the black and am quite happy, they look good. 8.5mm "Super Mag Plus". I was going to cut down OE wires but went for the warranty and having it done by someone with experience.
$70.00 Canadian, Limited Lifetime Warranty.

They also sell a high output ignition system (dizzy based) but I can't find it on the web.

No WiFi plug wires?

You can buy single wires in various lengths from any Standard Ignition supplier. The wire part numbers that end in GT fit the EDIS coil posts.
