Trigger Wheel/Sensor info conflict

Post by sunray »

I've got my VR sensor mount made and now I'm just about to tack my trigger wheel down. What I want to know is that I see in the installation guide it says on a 4cyl to mount the sensor 90 degrees before the missing tooth when the crank is at #1 tdc. Now on other sites (like megasquirt) it says to mount the sensor completely opposite ie: 90 degrees after the missing tooth when at tdc......is someone somewhere misinformed and if so...who?

Is this the Megasquirt page you're referring to?

http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm
or
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra ... dware.html

I believe the pages in our installation documentation is consistent with this information, including the diagrams.

The EDIS spec calls for the sensor to be mounted N (90/60/50) degrees before the missing tooth, when the engine is at #1 TDC.

Thanks for the links. I must have just come across the only bum information page. The page is:

http://www.dainst.com/info/edis/edis.html

Not very clear and obviously not as good as the megajolt guide. Should be nice when its running!!
