New MJLJ V3.0 - Configurating

Post by SMoo »

I previously had a V2 board installed on my car and am currently in the process of installing a V3. When I installed the V2, there was a clear list of step by step instructions for configuring the MJLJ that even IT dummies like myself could understand on the website.

As these are no longer shown, do I presume I don't need to burn the bootloader firmware this time around? If I do, please could somebody reproduce said list?

Hello,

Not sure what information you're seeking- There was never a step where one needed to burn the bootloader firmware, since both V2 and V3 processors are supplied with firmware, ready to go. Are you instead looking to upgrade your existing firmware to the newer version?

The difference between V2 and V3 was in hardware and firmware, but the external behaviour has remained the same. So if you know how to use your V2 MJLJ, the usage is the same with the V3 unit, once it's installed into your wiring harness..

Documentation:

- The MJLJ installation guide is listed in the 'how to' section, above- See "Vehicle Installation Guide".
- The configuration software can be downloaded from the same place.

Does this help?

Thanks Brent.

I definitely had to load the firmware on to my V2, but that may have something to do with the fact I got the kit from Bill in the UK rather than direct from the States.

At least I now know I'm not missing anything obvious.
