Can you explain what you mean by that?

Have you checked all the obvious voltages with a meter?

You could try reversing the wires on the VR sensor - one way round will work, the other way won't 8)

OK....so starting from the basics to get a spark from the EDIS components alone....

- 36-1 trigger wheel on crank (or use the flywheel 36-1 "webbing" on a Zetec flywheel)
- VR sensor pointing at trigger wheel 1-2mm gap
- crank/VR sensor to EDIS pins 5 and 6 (match the colours or try both ways)
- screen of VR cable (if you have one) to EDIS pin 7
- +12v to EDIS pin 8
- earth to EDIS pin 7
- one coil outer pin to EDIS pin 10
- the other coil outer to pin EDIS pin 12
- centre coil connector to +12v
- plug leads from coil towers to plugs

That's it.

Check all wiring, check all pins are actually making contact to the EDIS module, and put just one plug on a plug lead and lay it on top of the engine so that the body is earthed.

You should get a very healthy spark with just this setup. It does all work - millions of Ford Escorts and Fiestas can't be wrong.

PS Just had a thought - I didn't know that the Mondeo EDIS module was suitable...sounds a bit modern to me. Are you really sure it's an EDIS4? - it should say on the white sticker on it - like the picture on current eBay listing 220137067431
