ignition wire

Post by gnoegg »

Hi there,

I'm quit ready to run mjlj on my 74 Inno Mini, but i have serious problems to get ignition wire here in Switzerland.
I need 4 cables with aprox. 20 - 30 cm length.

Can anyone tell me in which Ford car such cables are in use, so i can try to buy original stuff ?
Or is there a supplier who is selling only the plugs for the coil, so i can assembly the cable by my self?

Any help is gladly appriciated.

Bruno

I used (UK) Ford Fiesta 1990-1993 ignition leads - nice and long, with the proper connections for the EDIS coilpack...

yes, Ford Fiesta was my first choice, too. very long as the coilpack is at the backside of the engine.
after i got a second set of wires from the scrap yard i pulled them apart and made a custom set out of the coil plugs and MSD parts.

Hi Martin, Hi Klas
thanks for quick answer.

I only know those spark-plug socket, which you can screw into the cable. But i think this are only good for copper-wire.
Are those fiesta wire normal copper-type ?
Which spark plug sockets are you using for your custom set ?

thanks

i once bought a MSD wire set #31239, its for V8 so it last long with inline 4 engines. the plugs are crimped and a crimp tool is supplied. other manufacturers offers the same type of set. you just have to take some Ford wires to get the right coil plugs as you can not buy them as spare parts as far as i know
