Hi,
I am about to get the machining done on my crank pulley extension and trigger wheel so I can weld them together. Is it advisable to get the assembly balanced before refitting to my engine, or will it be ok as it is. I initially thought that as the work will be done on a lathe so the trigger wheel has no run out once it is mounted, it should be reasonably balanced from the outset. I look forward to any replies.

Hi,
Thank you for the replies, I think I'll take a chance and fit the trigger wheel as it is, if I detect any vibration then I'll get it balanced. The pulley extension and pulley/damper have been separated as the extension locates on two pegs, so there is no worries of heat affecting the damper. Attached is a picture of the extension and trigger wheel, I'll be doing the welding next week hopefully.
