Need help from france

Post by mariodantas »

Hi fellows...... I need your help

I'll need to install (fix) the MJLJ unit inside the bonnet near the engine but I'm afraid cause the unit is not protected against humidity and here we're expecting -10c in Winter and a lot of humidity as I can verify every morning inside the engine bay....

Can you give some ideas to protect the unit against the heavy wheather conditions ?????? maybe inside an isolated box ????

Thanks......

Another question, the COILPACK -VE signal provided by the EDIS 4 is an earth signal ? or 12v+ ????

Thanks

Bonjour Mario,

We strongly recommend you install the Megajolt inside the passenger compartment, such as underneath the dashboard. Would this be possible in your vehicle?

The EDIS-4 can be mounted inside the engine bay, however.

Which pin number are you referring to on the EDIS-4 when you say COILPACK-VE? Did you mean the two coil pack drive outputs?

Be sure to review the installation guide here: http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V3_ve ... tion_guide This has the wiring diagram and additional information for installing your system.

Ok.

To charge and fire the coils the EDIS module switches ground on and off.

The EDIS ground connection, coil pack connections (pin 10 and 12), and the +12v coil pack connection form a complete circuit.

The EDIS module controls this completely- you only need to connect the coil pack connections directly from the EDIS module to the coil packs.

Ok thanks Brent, as I understand the coil drive cables are NEGATIVE and controlled by the EDIS 4, I'll create a little box with two diodes 1N4004 and a ZENER diode to control my old tacho as it needs the flyback pulse....

Thanks again and... "BONNE NUIT"

Another question, are you (Brent) thinking about to include a coolant temp sensor option to Megajolt ?

Thanks...

Hi Mario,

Yes, V.Next hardware will have coolant temperature input with the ability to modify the base ignition timing.
