On the old forum there used to be a post that had a testing procedure with a listing of all the sensible default voltage and resistance readings that you should get for a default install of the MJ.
I've tried searching but can't seem to find it - does anyone know the post I'm on about?

Ah, no, not quite.
The post I am referring to was one where a guy listed all the default readings that you should get at the EDIS unit, TPS, Coilpack etc, with the MJLJ installed and with a +12v feed, and then again while cranking.
I removed my install and went back to a distributor while diagnosing some fuelling problems, but that was easily 6 months ago and I lost the print out of that particular post.
The post I am referring to was one where a guy listed all the default readings that you should get at the EDIS unit, TPS, Coilpack etc, with the MJLJ installed and with a +12v feed, and then again while cranking.
I removed my install and went back to a distributor while diagnosing some fuelling problems, but that was easily 6 months ago and I lost the print out of that particular post.
Oddly, I can't remember a post like that. Taking readings from those various points is best done while the engine is running, and then you would really need an oscilloscope to look at the waveforms.
TPS is calibrated by the software, so once it's installed you can perform that task. There's one consideration with the TPS; if it's wired backwards then this will be apparent when you perform the calibration; simply reversing the outer leads of the TPS remedies this common problem.
Did you experience any specific problem when you were installing/testing the EDIS/MJLJ combination, or are you simply getting prepared for the install?

In answer to your question Brent, we had MJLJ up and running previously, but at the time we had a few problems with the engine; both spikes on the VR readings causing wierd advance/retard and some intermittent fuelling problems (though MJLJ *was* working, as showing by a timing light).
We took the whole system off and went back to a distributor while we tried to iron out the fuelling issues (turned out to be an air leak from the manifold for our R1 bike carbs - the mating surface where it fastens to the head hadn't been surfaced properly).
The project (2.1 Pinto powered Lotus 7 replica) is something we just do in our spare time, so it's been so long that we may as well treat it as a first install again. Those values for testing will be very useful, thanks Martin!
