For all hardware versions, the "Rev Limit" output has a special behavior where 100 RPMs before the output is triggered the advance goes to zero degrees. You may need to update to the latest firmware for your V2 board. See http://www.autosportlabs.net/3.2.x/2.8. ... rade_guide

The Rev Limit feature is documented in the Operations Guide: http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V3_Op ... #Rev_Limit

You would be able to test this rather easily; just set the rev limit output to something very low and observe the ignition advance when the engine crosses that RPM.

Thanks for the advice. I set the rev limit to 2500 and it certainly works!! It is now at 7000 and I have a 'spare' bucket that is being used at the lower end of the rev range to assist with the tickover when cold.
