First drive on Jolt

Post by DannyP »

I am extremely impressed. Idle is rock solid, never was before. My pinging is GONE(or pinking for you Brits!). I had found my timing was plus/minus at least 5 degrees at 3000rpm with a dizzy, not anymore. Also had a CD unit before, Mallory Hyfire 6AL. Absolutely smooth, tractable, no flat spots, and POWER! And that is my first real attempt at a map and no dyno(yet). Megajolt III, EDIS and TPS from a 1990 Escort, new ACCEL coil, Escort pulley machined to fit my crank pulley. THE BEST mod I've done to my car yet since building it! Tach output is Megajolt to a Brazilian VDO, perfectly smooth. Oh yeah, and rev-limiter from Brent is mounted internally and wired through unused AUX output 3 and 4(coil power in and out). Rev limit works perfectly, thank you. Brent, hats off to you. I now have THE best ignition available for ten to fifteen percent of the cost of Electromotive. And it has more precise control with the laptop interface.

I would also like to publicly apologise to Brent for not getting this going soon enough to give Beta-test feedback on the rev limiter :(

Danny,

Thanks so much for for the feedback- with the attention to detail put into project cars such as yours, we're excited and honored to see the Megajolt included along side. :)
