I bought my system secondhand and have noticed that the coil has been wired up back to front. Pin 10 EDIS to pin 1 coil and pin 12 EDIS to pin 3 coil, whereas the installation instructions state Pin 10 EDIS to pin 3 coil and pin 12 EDIS to pin 1 coil.
Will this cause any problems? When I did a quick run with the car last week I noticed that the exhaust popped a lot (backfired) when I took my foot of the accelerator. Do I need to change the wires around?
With regard to the trigger wheel does this have to be fixed to the crankshaft pulley wheel with extra fixings, or will the central bolt be enough to hold it in place without moving in use?

Coil wiring & trigger wheel query

If you can start it, drive it and you have reasonable power then the coils are definitely the correct way round - if they are the wrong way round, you wouldn't be able to do any of these.
Backfiring on overrun could be a number of things, but the first thing to check is your map. Can you post it here?
Trigger wheel - up to you to decide based on your installation. I use a single central bolt, done up v.tight, and copious amounts of loctite (on the thread, between the underside of the bolt head and the trigger wheel, and between the top of the shank and the inside of the hole in the trigger wheel). No problems in many thousand (motorsport-competitive) miles.....YMMV as they tend to say in the US...
