Firmware upgrade problem

Post by philhoward »

I am trying to upgrade my megajolt fron V3 to V3.2.1. I have saved the file to my pc and am following the instructions as follows
Open a command window (Click Start / Run, and enter 'cmd') and then navigate to the directory where you downloaded your MJLJ files.
My cursor sais c:\documents and settings\adam howard>.
I have typed in the following after the prompt 'c:\documents and settings\adam howard\my documents\megajolt' but get a message saying c:\ is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
How can i navigate to the relevant file so that i can enter the > hc08sprg.exe COM1 mjlJunior_V3.2.1.s19 command

Sorry that it may sound a daft question but I am not that good with computers

After

c:\documents and settings\adam howard>

type

cd "my documents"\megajolt

...and you should be in the right place, with the prompt now being

c:\documents and settings\adam howard\my documents\megajolt>

Then you enter

hc08sprg.... etc etc (no > at the start)

Thank for that. I can now get to the directory. I now have another error message come up when i type in hc08sprg.exe COM1 etc. It sais 'hco08.exe' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Any ideas?

You're almost there! But you have the command a bit wrong. You need to type:

hc08sprg.exe COM1 .....

Thanks Brent

I have put the command in correctly and still get a message saying 'hc08sprg.exe' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Any more ideas?

So if you do a 'dir' command (no quotes), what do you see......?

You should see all the files you downloaded including that .exe file

The following files are listed
09/05/2008 16:15 <DIR> .
09/05/2008 16:15 <DIR> ..
09/05/2008 16:14 723 data 9-5-8.mjlj
09/04/2008 19:58 1,987,652 mjljConfig_v3.2.1.exe
09/05/2008 16:15 7,850 mjlJunior_V3.2.1.s19
3 File(s) 1,996,225 bytes
2 Dir(s) 28,315,385,856 bytes free

When I saved the controller firmware I right clicked and saved target as, as I did not have an option for save. Would this be the problem

I have just realised that i did not download the Firmware programming software. I have now done this and it accepts the command hc08sprg.exe ......

It is now just counting on calibration break pulse. count ...

it has got to over 1000 so I have disconnected the power

Any ideas what to do now?
