how to map on RR? how to find out what version I have?? Should I update software/firmware???

Hi folks,

As you can probably tell I am new to all of this and I am looking for what may be basic help. I have recently fitted a MJLJ kit to my VW golf. I purchased the kit from a guy that already had it fitted to his golf. I phoned a local tuning/RR garage today and they wanted to know more about the software and firmware but i didn't know which versions or the best way to go about the tuning process on the RR so i have a few questions.

p.s. the setup is running a TPS and not a MAP sensor

Is there a way I could find out which version the MJLJ box is running?
What is the best way (procedure) to map the ignition on the RR?
Also I have noticed firmware upgrades for different MJLJ versions - could I use any or must it be specific to the unit I have?

any related information about the RR tuning process, hints and tips would be greatly appreciated too as I will be taking the car up for its setup this weekend if possible

Hello-

To check your firmware version click help/about in the configuration software while the MJLJ is connected, and it will read and display the firmware.

If you don't see this information in help/about then you are likely running a previous version of the firmware.

The latest controller firmware is 3.2.1 for V3 hardware; the latest configuration software is (coincidentally) V3.2.1 as well. The latest V2 hardware firmware is 2.8.
