MJLJ communication

Post by AE86 MJLJ user »

Im having a bit of a problem communicating with my MJLJ right now. I tested it through hyperterminal and worked so i know it is getting power and desires a connection. The problem i have is that when i pull up the configuring software, it tells me that com port 1 is an unknown serial port, even though i know it is communicating with the MJLJ. What could cause this? could it be a problem in the software? I havent tried writing an ignition map yet, though i doubt it would eliminate this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

make sure you have the java COMM working- see the software link at the top. Especially important is that the comm.jar needs to be in the same directory as the mjlj tuning software.

the comm.jar file is in the same folder as the configuring software and i am fairly certain that java works on my comp. Should i just delete and redownload the whole thing in hopes that i can get everything in the right places? or is there anything else that i could try before doing this?
