Serial-USB adaptors

Post by david jenkins »

Brent,

Just a thought - communicating with MJLT using USB-serial adaptors seems to be one of the major headaches for a new user.

Had you ever thought of selling some 'known to work' models in your shop?
Or posting a list of 'known to work' types on this forum?

Just my 2p's worth (sorry - 2 cents' worth!)

I paid too much for mine from Radio Shack($30), but it worked right out of the package, no problems at all.

I think that would be a great idea, also selling spares would be good, the molex conectors for example as it would be nice to be able to make more than one loom.

That's a good idea. However, the risk is that one USB-Serial adapter will not necessarily work for all people under all conditions!

I will start a wiki page listing 'known good' usb-serial adapters, which can be edited by others.
