elec Fan

Post by Alex1380 »

Is it possible to get the Mj v4 to controll a electric fan, running off a relay of course. Now i know i could do it using the RPM as a trigger say comming on a 500 to 3000rpm then switching off but can i use the fancy new temp input to tricker one of the user out put at a certain temp??

Thanks

I have thought about it and read that it can be done - Anyone written a 'How To' on this :)

I guess my question is why would you want to do this? What I mean is why have a fan turn off/on at certain rpm? If you want it temp controlled, you can do that easily with a thermoswitch and a relay.

No I think both of us want it to come on based on temp and dont know how to use the input (maybe thats a statement only for me)
My question is 'How do I control a elec fan based on temp sender and relay - ie/ Any instructions to set this up.

Forget based on RPM, I dont need that and am assuming that Alex doesnt need that either but knows how to do it.

Cheers,
Peter

basicly why buy a bit if the mj can do it. Just want to try and make the most out of the MJ unit. it seems to come down to if the software can be made to switch a use an output on by using a single from a input as a trigger.

Isn't it as simple as to wire a user output to a relay - and set the user output to switch on at a choosen temperature ? And have this relay run the fan.

You are making a simple thing more complicated, you need a temp sensor and a relay anyway. The only reason to run it through MJLJ is for datalogging.
