No RPM change

Post by Captain Midnight »

On test bench. MAP gauge works. RPM does not. PIP good, SAW good. Board checks good. EDIS good. No timing advance. Help!

Hello,

If you are actually measuring a SAW pulse emitted from the MJLJ, it's reacting to the PIP signal, measuring RPM in the process. The current measured RPM would show up in the runtime gauge on the configuration software. The one caveat is that RPMs below 450 is in the 'cranking RPM' range and is therefore displayed as 0 RPM.

What RPMs are you simulating on your bench? Also, can you describe your test bench in detail?

Can you hook it up to a running engine? That would certainly be the best test.

I'm using a lathe that turns 750 RPM.
I discovered the problem. I was using a plug pinout for a V4, but I have a V3. I finaly noticed that my plug had a differant number of pins than the skematic. It took a week for me to find the problem.
Thanks for the suport.
