Extra wire

The loom to my coil pack has a fourth wire (green/brown) which has a socket at the coil end. It appears to be original as it goes through the plug and socket between the coil and the Edis. It's evidently redundant now, but I wondered what it might have been for? I think the parts came from a Fiesta

So it is an extra wire to a separate connector, or does your coilpack connector have 4 conductors on the plug?

The coil pack connector has three wires. This one has its own female connector, about 3mm diameter.

Sounds like it needs to be surgically removed then! Cut it out and insulate the cut, then you should be good to go.
