Aircooled VW?

Post by Jax2A »

Hi all, been away for a long time as my project got side tracked by having to fix up a car for my now 16 year old daughter. Now I've got two years til the next girl turns 16, so I get to pay a bit of attention to my own projects for the next year or so. Since I was last here I've picked up a 1970 VW bug. Came back to see if anyone else has already done one with MJLJ but searches for VW and Volkswagen come up empty. So... anyone do one yet?

Jack

Several have been done. Mine is almost, and would be, if I had not screwed up wiring the processor board to the rev limiter board.
You might post on the Samba engine forum http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewforum.php?f=12

Thanks for the reply, I thought it was strange nothing came up in my searches. I did find one reference while manually surfing the old posts.

What are Type1 users doing for their toothed sensor pulley? Anything pre-made available, are people making their own?

Thanks, Jack

Here is what I am doing http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=1968

And this should help http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/search ... h_forum=12

And go here http://www.shoptalkforums.net/search.php? and type "edis megajolt" in the search for keywords box.

Must have missed this one. Here's mine:

I used and modified the stock Ford wheel and fit it to my front pulley. Works WAY better than the Bosch 009!
