Been through a good deal of the posts of the site and note the lack of VW installations. I'm fitting to an 8v 1800EV engine from a MK2 golf GTi. I'll be running aWeber DMTL and along with a Techtonics 266 cam and a janspeed 4 into 1, so I thought I'd post up a progress report with a few pictures
Here's my trigger wheel and sensor bracket install pictures.
..... and the engine, prior to fitting the wheel
Let me know what you think

Thats a great installation, might do something similar with mine plus a 16v head. Nice to see how someone else has mounted the VR sensor.
Does your alternator and water pump run off the same belt?? As the engine i'm doing is an ABS off a mk3 driver and wasn't sure how to mount the trigger wheel

will try and keep things up dated with pictures as I progress. I guess I'll be needing some help soon or later so it'll be good to keep you guys in the loop.
The holes are indeed rear mount holes but only on the MK2 golf. i'll be fitting the engine in a Mk1 caddy which uses the next set of hole up for the mount...... lucky me.
thanks for the input

Sorry not so much more to tell at the moment. have drilled and tapped the crank pulley and lined up the trigger wheel to the sensor but thats about it.
The alternator pulley is behind the trigger wheel so I just backed off the sensor and slid the belt through the gap. The belt drives the water pump as well as the alternator.
Still looking for a proven map for this set-up or as near this set-up as poss if anyones got one they want to share.
